A clearer brief for your next store.

Describe your products and how customers choose them. A jewelry consultation, a beauty trial and a quick accessory purchase need different combinations of space, display and staff access. Explain what works in your current store and what you want to change.

Include your brand guidelines, reference images and the products you plan to display. References are most useful when you explain the detail you like: a material, a layout, a lighting effect or a particular customer experience.

Share a floor plan, dimensions and recent photographs. Mark entrances, columns, ceiling heights, service points and any areas that must remain unchanged. If dimensions are provisional, identify them so the design team knows what still needs checking.

For a mall or leased space, include the landlord’s fit-out requirements and access restrictions. These can affect fixture sizes, delivery planning and the work your local contractor needs to complete.

List the fixtures, displays, packaging and material categories you need. Separate essential opening requirements from items that can follow later. Include approximate quantities, storage needs and any existing items you want to keep.

A complete brief does not require every specification to be finished. It should make the open decisions visible, so they can be resolved in a useful order.

Share a budget range, the delivery location and your target opening date. Let the team know which details matter most to the brand and where you are open to alternatives.
